Background
COVID has put a big cramp in our travel plans. We bailed on our
travel plans and had to push them for more than a
year. But, no matter, the time has come. We have
long had plans to return to the Iberian Peninsula to
complete our explorations. Our previous trip, while 3
weeks long, was way too short to see the entire area.
So, a return engagement was planned and now it is time to
execute.
Our high-level plan was to fly from San Diego via Miami to Madrid. Then, since we have seen Madrid, take an immediate in-country flight to Grenada and see the Alcazar. (We missed this major site due to popularity and our late attempts to get tickets). After Grenada, we will take the train to Gibraltar for a few days and then to Seville. We will get a car in Seville and then travel west into Portugal along the southern and western coasts and then east again along the Bay of Biscay. Our entire time in Portugal will be ad-hoc as we have no reservations. From fluidity comes adventure.

Conclusions
The Iberian Peninsula
is one of our favorite travel destinations. It is
tourist-friendly and chock full of interesting historical
sites. Good weather and friendly folks make this the
