The Trip

Today was a travel day.  Out of the hotel, we took the electric taxi to the train station.  From there, we took the cog railway over the pass to the "real" train station.  From there we boarded a bus to travel to Castle Chillon and Lausanne.

The Photos

The shots below are reduced from the output size of the digital camera to 700 pixels wide.

Zermatt station.

The other end of the cog rail line is the launching point for the trip to Zermatt.  The parking was huge -- and full.

This souvenier shop specialized in die cast cars.  I looked for a mog, but they "were out".

There was a dearth of porters.  All you stuff has to go onto the cart.  And the carts are hooked to the train, inside due to the grade of the railway.  The carts roll around the cabin otherwise.

3 guys moving carts.

A frozen waterfall as seen from the bus.  Taken through the bus window.

A major bridge that we went over.

Houses built right on the mountainside.

An odd sign.  What, really, does this mean?

Some apartment buildings.

The trip was not too bad, it was better being in the bus than in a car.
